The latest version of the Ford Explorer Philippines has now reached the Philippines. It might not be officially out yet, but the Blue Oval is already pre-selling the midsize SUV locally. According to a report from carguide.ph, only three colors and two variants of the Limited trim are available for now.
Under the hood, the sixth-generation U625 Explorer’s sole powertrain option is a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 10-speed automatic. At the most, the said engine can make up to 300 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque.

What differentiates the available variants are their drivetrains. There's one that uses a 4x4 drivetrain and the other has 4x2. For the 4x2 version, power is sent to the rear.
Remember that the previous version of the Explorer came with either front-wheel or all-wheel-drive. The new Explorer in four-wheel-drive guise gets Ford’s Terrain Management System. This allows a user access to seven different drive modes for optimal performance in various driving conditions.
Also, of note about the new Explorer is that it uses the new Ford CD6 platform, which it shares with the new Lincoln Aviator. According to reports, this new platform allows for a rear-wheel drivetrain, as well as more space for occupants.
Regarding interior features, not much is known yet. If we base it on the US-spec Limited trim, however, then it gets triple-zone automatic climate control, a push to start button, a power tilt and telescopic steering column, a moonroof, power-adjustable front, and second-row seats, and a hands-free power tailgate, among others.

Safety is handled by the Ford Co-Pilot 360+, which is a collection of driver-assist features like lane-keep assist, cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision assist, and a rear-view camera.
Lastly, you can already reserve a 2021 Explorer at Ford dealerships. According to the same report, the price tag for the Explorer 2.3 Limited 4x4 sits at Php 2,998,000, and the Explorer 2.3 Limited 4x2 version can be had for Php 2,698,000.
