Mazda MX-5 RF Exterior
The Mazda MX-5 RF’s exterior features Mazda's KODO design language – making the coupe look like it is in constant motion. The car's exterior profile is made up of sultry curves. The front fascia features slim headlights with sharp and smooth corners that are also present in the vehicle’s rear and side. Mazda maintained the vehicle’s traditional roadster shape with a short rear and a long hood that enables the motor to be pushed behind the front axle.
Mazda MX-5 RF Interior
As of the update, the MX-5 RF’s seat is either wrapped in nappa leather or standard leather. The Club Edition trims then come kitted out with Recardo Seats. Other equipment found on the 2023 MX-5 RF include automatic climate control, a push-to-start button, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, a leather-wrapped shift knob, among others.
Technology & Safety Features
All MX-5 trims are equipped with a Mazda Connect touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The said headunit is then linked to a 9-piece Bose sound system.
Safety is then handled by dual front airbags, side airbags, anti-lock braking with electronic brakeforce distribution, dynamic stability control, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, lane departure warning, and Mazda’s Smart City Brake Support.
Mazda MX-5 RF Platform & Chassis
The MX-5 is a 2-seater coupe with a front engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. For suspensions, it uses a Double Wishbone for the front, and a multi-link rear suspension. The manual versions then get Bilsetin Dampers for the front suspension, as well as a limited-slip differential.
Also, the 2023 version of the MX-5 now comes with Kinematic Posture Control, a system which ensures less body roll and more stability during spirited drives. It also prevents the car from lifting when accelerating hard.
Engine & Drivetrain
All MX-5 RF variants are powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 gasoline engine. At maximum, it can make up to 182 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to its rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, or a six-speed automatic transmission.
