Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is not letting its foot off the pedal when it comes to launching new models. Aside from launching the all-new Avanza and Veloz, TMP is also ramping up its GR Sport (GR-S) model lineup.
The recent Toyota model in the Philippines to get the GR-S treatment is the Rush. While TMP has yet to officially announce the model’s arrival, the Rush GR-S is now available in the Philippines with a price tag of Php 1,176,000.
The Rush GR-S is not yet shown on TMP’s website as of this writing but our insider source among Toyota dealers said that it is now available, and it is already on display in select showrooms. Our source added that the Rush GR-S now sits as the new top-of-the-line trim as the Rush G got dropped from the model’s variant lineup.
This means that the Rush variant lineup in the Philippines is now composed of the GR-S, E AT (Php 1,052,000), and E MT (Php 1,012,000). Previously, the axed G variant retails at Php 1,100,000. As such, the new top-spec Toyota Rush GR-S gets a Php 76,000 price bump.
The Toyota Rush GR-S features a more assertive-looking demeanor due to the addition of GR-S-specific trims such as side body molding. It also gets a revamped front and rear bumper that gives the Rush a bolder presence. To add, the Rush GR-S sits on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the seven-seater Rush GR-S is integrated with an updated seven-inch infotainment touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It then has an eight-speaker sound system, which is a similar setup to the axed G variant. Aside from those, the Rush GR-S has two 12V sockets, and a smart keyless entry system.
