The global parts shortage strikes again.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) released a public advisory regarding the delayed delivery of the brand-new units of some of its models. In the said statement, the Japanese marque is assuring its customers that it is ensuring the quality of its products and services. It is also asking for further understanding from its clients for the said delays in deliveries.

TMP's public advisory posted on its official Facebook page

Though the brand didn’t state outright which models they’re talking about, these are no doubt models/variants that come with particularly high demand.

If you remember, we published an article on the Toyota Raize Turbo variant. In this case, the said subcompact crossover has a waiting period of up to four months. In the same report, no reasons were given for the delay, though it is connected to very high demand from customers for sure.

On the said public advisory which was also posted on TMP’s official Facebook page, a number of Toyota customers provided some comments. It appears that some are also waiting for their Toyota Hilux units as far back as February of this year, to December 2021.

Going back to the statement, TMP says that the delays are due in part to several factors affecting the global supply chain. There’s the ongoing parts supply disruption, which itself is also connected to the global semiconductor shortage which has been going on since the start of 2022.

Interestingly, models/variants in particular color options have also met some delays in delivery. We don’t have an exhaustive list for this, but we do know that people apparently can’t get enough of the Raize Turbo in White Pearl.

There is a sizable demand for the Toyota Raize Turbo

TMP has also urged customers to direct their questions to its Customer Assistance Center. One can reach this via their landline at (02) 8819-2912.

And yes, another solution if you do not want to wait long for your Toyota unit, is to pick a variant that isn’t in demand. Again, we can’t pinpoint which of these are, so you better visit or call your nearest Toyota dealership if you really are in the market for a Toyota.
