Recently, we have reported about the possibility that the next-gen 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser might arrive in the country sometime this August. Toyota Motor Corporation debuted the new J300 Series of its full-size luxury SUV as part of the nameplate’s 70th anniversary, receiving updates from the front all the way to the back.

Well now, Land Cruiser Philippines fans have something to be excited about as photos of the new model with no camouflage reveal that it has already set foot on Philippines shores. The photos, which were shared online by Ef from Facebook group Interesting Car Spotting PH, show four trailers carrying three units of the J300 Series each at Batangas City.
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) currently has no official statement regarding the local launch of the new Land Cruiser J300. However, the units seen in the photos are affixed with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Conduction Sticker which pretty much confirms that it is only a matter of time before it hits local dealerships.

Since it is not yet formally introduced by TMP, no official specifications have been released. The Land Cruiser J300 is expected to offer better ride comfort as compared to the current PH-spec Land Cruiser thanks to its new GA-F Platform. It is more rigid, more stable as the center gravity is moved closer to the ground, and is now lighter by as much as 200 kg.
Inside, the next-gen model should bear a new dashboard layout that hosts either a 9-inch or 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for entertainment on the go. Moreover, it is expected to be equipped with the latest generation of the Toyota Safety Sense that offers advanced driver assistance systems.

Under the hood, TMP could offer two new engine options and discontinue the current 4.5-liter V8 engine. The first engine option is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 409 hp and 649 Nm of torque, while the other option is a 3.3-liter V6 twin-turbo engine that produces 304 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Both engines are expected to utilize a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 4WD system.

As said earlier, TMP hasn’t put out a word regarding the new Toyota Land Cruiser including pricing. But if we’re to take the info from the previous report, then the new model will get a price hike of Php 700,000. This means that it could now start at around Php 5,334,000.
