The Toyota Corolla Cross is invading the ASEAN market since its launch in the Thailand market. Following its launch, Toyota’s five-seater crossover is now available in Vietnam and it is set to arrive in Indonesia as well as in the Philippines.
However, the Corolla Cross that debuted in Vietnam looks a bit different from the one we saw in Thailand. It got subtle design changes, which turned out to be great.
The Corolla Cross that debuted in Thailand looks good but some individuals are not that sold to its exterior design, and one of which is the Vietnam market.
As compared to the Thai version, the Viet-spec Corolla Cross has a restyled front end. The design difference can specifically be seen at the vehicle’s grille and front bumper.
The Toyota Corolla Cross gets a revamped front end in Vietnam
The grille of the Vietnamese Corolla Cross is integrated with a horizontal trim accent, which adds more flavor and style to the rather large and plain finish seen on the Thai-spec.
The horizontal trim accent also complements to the Toyota badge seen on the grille. On the other hand, the front bumper of the Corolla Cross for the Vietnam market gets a subtle trim accent as well, giving the five-seat crossover more character.
However, the trim accent applied to the bumper of the Corolla Cross kind of reminds us of the Mazda CX-3’s bumper-integrated turn signal.
2021 Toyota Corolla Cross
The subtle design change seen on the Viet-spec Corolla Cross is more than just for aesthetics purposes. The horizontal strip accent on the grille and the trim on the front bumper serves as an indicator of whether the Corolla Cross is a hybrid or non-hybrid variant.
The silver-colored trims tell that the certain Corolla Cross is a non-hybrid variant while the blue-colored ones indicate that it’s a hybrid. The same design approach that you can associate with Lexus.

>>> Update now: Toyota Corolla Cross 2022 Price Philippines
The Toyota Corolla Cross is set to debut in the Philippines on August 20. Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has yet to release the official local spec of the Corolla Cross. From what we know, this five-seater crossover will be offered in two variants: one is a naturally aspirated gasoline variant called the 1.8G, and the other one is 1.8 HEV.
Since the Corolla Cross will be competing against the likes of the Subaru XV and Honda HR-V, the local price could be Php 1.3 million (gas variant) and Php 1.6 million (hybrid variant). If this price estimation is correct, the Philippine-spec Toyota Corolla Cross is priced cheaper as compared to the one offered in Vietnam.
