The next-generation D-Max is one of the most anticipated releases from Isuzu, more so after the pickup broke cover in Thailand last year. No longer sharing the same GM-based platform with the Chevrolet Colorado, the D-Max offers a host of improvements that have piqued the interest of Filipino customers.
2021 Isuzu D-Max Australia launch
Isuzu Philippines has pegged the launch of the local-spec D-Max for March 4, 2021, but it looks like one eager beaver couldn’t wait that long. A leaked spec sheet of the new Isuzu D-Max has been making the rounds online, listing down the available features and prices that the market can expect.
However, be warned that the carmaker has not officially confirmed the information contained therein, so we advise caution in taking the material at face value. All these can still change in the days leading up to the formal launch.
That said, the leak identifies eight trim levels for the new D-Max, ranging from a Single Cab variant to the top-of-the-line LS-E. Similar to the Thailand-spec version, the new twin-bar grille will likely be flanked by Bi-LED projector headlamps for the range-topping variant, while the rest could get multi-reflector halogens.

The Thailand-spec V-Cross variant could come here under a different name
As with the outgoing model, the interior is expected to accommodate up to five occupants. A touchscreen head unit offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto could make an appearance, along with dual-zone automatic climate control.
The PH-spec D-Max could get the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), adapted from Subaru’s EyeSight technology. However, this will likely be offered on the range-topping variant, should Isuzu Philippines decide to bring it over.
Two engine choices are expected to be offered, a 1.9L turbodiesel mill good for 148 hp and 350 Nm of torque, and bigger 3.0L power plant that makes 188 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Consistent with overseas markets, the new D-Max could come in both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrains.
