The Suzuki Celerio in stock form is a practical car with a simple, but cutesy look courtesy of its small size. It is also one of the most affordable hatchback city cars in the Philippines and in the ASEAN market. That said, this model is frequently seen on local roads, and it's not exactly a head turner for most people.

At the 2021 Thailand International Motor Show though, Suzuki Thailand exhibited a particular Celerio that was kitted out in a way that brought out more of its personality. More specifically, it was made to look like the sporty old cars of yore.
That said, we’re talking about racing stripes running from the hood to the rear of the car. Its wheels are then decorated with retro moon hubcaps like the ones on your stereotypical hot rod, or on those dry lake, speed-oriented Bonneville cars.

Besides that, the Celerio in question also received an alternate front bumper lip, as well as a more angular-looking rear bumper and black plastic fender flares. It then gets dual exhaust tips, and a pair of side mirrors that matches the color of its racing stripes.
On the more practical side though, the builder opted to provide this Suzuki with a roof rail, as well as a carrier. This serves to give it the same vibes as those classic Volkswagen Beetle roof rack builds that were all the rage back in the day.
As for its mechanicals though, the Suzuki Thailand didn’t provide any details about that. For the Philippine-spec Suzuki Celerio though, it uses a 1.0-liter inline-3 gasoline engine capable of making up to 67 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Besides oozing with style, this build is also quite practical
Like we’ve mentioned, the Celerio is one of the most affordable city car models in the Philippines. Currently, it comes with a price of Php 558,000 for the manual transmission variant, and Php 628,000 for the CVT variant.
Do you like the look of this build? Do you agree with us if we say that this is a certified head turner?
