At the 2022 Red Dot Awards, it looks like Honda’s all-new design language for its car models has paid off. In particular, the all-new HR-V, that’s right, the one coming to the Philippines, has bagged the 2022 Product Design award for the Automobile category.
The all-new 2022 Honda HR-V
Of note, the Honda HR-V's exterior has been described as sleek and elegant. At the same time though, it has some sporty and youthful qualities. Its interior was also dubbed as premium as it exhibits a clean minimalist design that offers plenty of usable space which at the same time is pleasing to the eye.
This is also the fourth time that Honda has bagged the Red Dot Award for Product Design for Automobiles. Back in 2021, the Jazz e:HEV also won the said award. The same goes for the Euro-spec Accord Tourer in 2008, the Civic in 2006, and the Honda S2000 open-top sports coupe way back in 2001.

Besides the all-new HR-V, Honda also managed to get the 2022 Red Dot Product Design award for the Honda ADV350 “adventure scooter.” It looks tough, and it was designed with high ground clearance for a two-wheeler, but then it gets all the practical qualities of a scooter.
There’s also the Honda NT1100, a touring motorcycle. It represents the next step in touring motorcycles, and it provides utmost comfort without sacrificing the ability to provide stability, performance, as well as an eye-catching design.
Last but not the least, the EU23i generator also won the product design award in its category. This is because this is the world’s first portable generator that was based on a high-output engine. It also has some interesting features like a dedicated smartphone app for ease of use. And for a generator with a 3,200-watt output, it actually comes in a nice, well-packaged design.
The ADV350. It isn't sold here in the Philippines, but we do have the ADV150
With all that said, Honda engineers and designs deserve a pat on the back. The Red Dot awards after all is a pretty prestigious international design competition. Then again, we are pretty sure they aren’t stopping soon, so we can expect more great-looking designs from Honda in the near future.
Going back to the next-gen Honda HR-V, remember that it is coming this month to the local market. Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) also shared the price range for the all-new HR-V. For the entry-level HR-V S, it will retail at Php 1,300,000. The top-spec HR-V V Turbo, on the other hand, will be priced at Php 1,600,000.
