Ford Philippines announced that the all-new F-150 will soon arrive in the local lineup through Future Vehicles, a new section on the brand’s website that displays its upcoming models. The model that will be brought in the country is the full-size pickup truck’s latest 14th-gen version which was introduced last 2020.
All-new Ford F-150 Lariat
The next-gen model showcases a reworked design that Ford describes as bolder and tougher which should be exciting to see. However, that’s all to it and no further specifications have been rolled out by the carmaker.
So with that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the features we can expect on the upcoming PH-spec Ford F-150.
There are only two confirmed details regarding the new F-150 that Ford Philippines will offer, namely the engine and trim level. The Future Vehicles section states that it will offer the Lariat Diesel 4x4, a trim that sits somewhere in the middle of the range.
Interior view of the Ford F-150
The Ford F-150 Lariat Diesel 4x4 is powered by a 3.0-liter DOHC Power Stroke V6 Turbo Diesel capable of generating 250 hp and 597 Nm of torque. It is paired with an electronic 10-speed automatic transmission that helps further maximize the efficiency of the turbo powertrain.
It is still unclear if Ford Philippines will be offering the F-150 with a gasoline option. If so, some of the possible engines might include a 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost, 3.5-liter Powerboost Full Hybrid V6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost, and a 5.0-liter V8 with Auto Start-Stop Technology and Flex-Fuel Capability.
As said earlier, the new Ford F-150 looks more aggressive for the 14th-gen model. This is delivered by the two-bar chrome grille with black surround and accents, large chrome front bumper, LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), LED taillights, LED fog lamps, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
With Baja Tan interior option
Moving inside, two massive screens are integrated into the new full-size truck. These include the 12-inch Digital Productivity Screen (instrument cluster) and a 12-inch infotainment screen. Drivers and passengers get to benefit from leather seats that include heated front seats and rear bench-style seats. The new F-150 is also offered with a twin-panel moonroof as an option.
As for safety, the PH-spec F-150 is expected to be equipped with front driver and passenger airbags, front driver and passenger seat-mounted side airbags, side curtain airbags, Roll Stability Control, rearview camera with dynamic, cross-traffic alert, and 4-wheel anti-lock brakes.
Now on its 14th-gen model
Take note, the said features are based on the US-spec Ford F-150 Lariat trim. As such, specs might differ from the actual model that will arrive in the local market soon. Aspiring buyers of the next-gen American full-size pickup truck can use the said features to get an idea of what might come.
