Peugeot Philippines has its eyes set for a significant business transformation starting this 2022 just after celebrating its 10th anniversary last year. The company is now under a new distributor named Astara which will help grow the French marque’s presence in the country, targeting to introduce more car models and dealerships by the end of this year.
Facelifted Peugeot 5008
Astara is a Spanish automotive dealer that was established way back in 1979. It markets 29 car brands and operates in 16 countries including Spain, Portugal, Germany, and Colombia, with the Philippines as the company’s first Asian country. Moreover, the takeover marks the partnership between Astara and Stellantis, the Peugeot brand’s parent company.
“Having just celebrated our tenth anniversary in the Philippines, we are energized to continue building our momentum in the country through our great vehicles and after-sales service offerings with Astara as our partner,” said Peugeot Philippines Brand Head Maricar Parco.
New Peugeot models are coming
A total of four new models are slated to be introduced, with the new Peugeot 5008 leading the lineup expansion. The refreshed compact crossover comes with a redesigned exterior, new interior amenities, and updated tech. It is now available at all Peugeot Philippines dealerships with a price tag of Php 2,260,000.
Speaking of dealerships, the Peugeot Philippines is aiming to open seven more outlets. That said, the company is expected to boast a total of 11 dealerships by the end of 2022. Astara is also looking to transform the car brand’s digital platform in the country by the second quarter of this year.
“Our investment will help infuse a renewed sense of vigor for Peugeot Philippines and its patrons, creating a more purposeful brand that resonates to the Philippine market,” said Peugeot Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello. “We hope that, as we move forward and grow together, these exciting changes can help us meet the ever-changing needs of Filipinos.”
