Updated Apr 05, 2024

This is the very first time that these rides are shown off to the public.

Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines have officially launched their respective lineups at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Omoda E5

For Omoda, its two models are said to be made more appealing to younger car buyers. Both also sport eye-catching designs and interiors filled to the brim with tech.

Under the hood of the Omoda 5 internal combustion variant is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). At the most, 148 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque are sent to its front wheels.

The Omoda E5 fully-electric version meanwhile, uses a motor that can put out 204 hp and 400 Nm of torque. According to the brand, this EV model may be able to provide up to 450 km of range on a single charge. Powering up this EV is then done via an AC/DC charging.

Jaecoo J7

Depending on where you’re getting power, the Omoda E5 can also go from zero to 80 percent charge levels in just 30 minutes. This is thanks to its 110 kW peak DC fast charging capability.

The Jaecoo lineup meanwhile consists of two different crossover SUVs. There’s the Jaecoo J8 and the Jaecoo J7. Both are unibody crossovers but the Jaecoo J7 is oriented more as a luxury five-seater ride, while the Jaecoo J8 is positioned as a versatile three-row crossover that can take on slightly challenging terrain.

The top-spec Jaecoo J7 gets a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline mill that’s capable of outputting 197 hp and 290 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission.

Jaecoo J8

The Jaecoo J8 on the other hand, gets a beefier 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can output up to 249 hp and 385 Nm of torque. Like the Jaecoo J7, the Jaecoo J8 is an all-wheel-drive model.

Get the chance to see these Jaecoo & Omoda rides in person at the 2024 MIAS from April 4 to 7, 2024 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
