With the safeguard duties dismissed, the pickup gets a price adjustment.

The safeguard duty bonds imposed on imported vehicles have been formally rescinded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). As a result, expect carmakers to implement price adjustments on their offerings, at least for those who factored in the tariffs when it came to pricing.

Customers will now have another reason to consider the Navara midsize pickup

One of those is Nissan Philippines, which recently announced that prices for its Navara midsize pickup will be adjusted accordingly. The recently-launched generation of the model is sourced from Thailand, which means it was included in the list of imported vehicles that were required to carry the tariff.

“Nissan welcomes the decision of the Tariff Commission and Department of Trade and Industry not to implement definitive general safeguard duties on imported vehicles", said Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima. “We believe this move greatly benefits our customers and the automotive industry as a whole.”
