This truck is ready for a slugfest.

Last month, we have reported on the released teaser photos of the new and improved Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior developed by Premcar, an automotive engineering company based in Australia. The new PRO-4X Warrior package is engineered to take on the most extreme of road conditions with ease.

Not to be confused with the PRO-4X variant, the PRO-4X Warrior is an even more improved version of the former. Japanese car brand Nissan has now revealed the Warrior package’s official specifications, which is said to be tougher, safer, and smarter as compared to the standard Navara. It bears enhancements on both its performance and cosmetics.

The Navara PRO-4X Warrior has a ground clearance rated at 260mm, a 40mm increase as compared to the regular Navara PRO-4X. Its approach angle has been tweaked from 32 degrees to 36 degrees, while the departure angle gets a slight 0.2 increase now at 19 degrees.

It adopts the features from the rest of the Navara family

Suspension springs and dampers have been significantly improved and adjusted to bring out the best off-road performance from the new variant. Nissan says the suspension system is enhanced to provide a smoother ride, better ride handling stability even at high speeds, less body roll, and an efficient energy transfer to the chassis.

The improvements in the suspension system are complemented by the new blacked-out 275/70/R17 Warrior tires which are a hybrid type with rugged off-road properties, offering outstanding off-road and on-road performances. This new set of tires replaces the 255/65/R17 used by the regular Nissan Navara PRO-4X.

A more capable off-road truck

Under the hood, the Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior is powered by the same 2.3-liter common-rail 4-cylinder twin-turbo-diesel engine used in the Australian-spec model. The engine is capable of generating 188 hp and 450 Nm of torque from as low as 1,500rpm. The truck also has a towing capacity rated at 3.5 tons.

As for the cosmetic upgrades, Premcar wants to create an even more aggressive and robust off-road look on its Warrior program. Upfront, the Warrior package is designed with a winch-compatible bullbar that gives the truck its robust off-road look. It also comes with a large bash plate finished in its signature red with the ‘Navara’ inscription.

This or the Raptor Ranger?

The Warrior package comes with ‘Twin Turbo’ decals that run across the lower portion of the sides. These blend well with the larger fender flares that give it its proper off-road look. Other cosmetic upgrades include a modified towbar and additional underbody protection which also improve capability.

With all the said improvements in mind, one can expect that the Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior can go straight head-to-head with the renowned Ford Ranger Raptor. Both of the enhanced models are designed for those looking for extra thrill and flair from the truck’s regular models.
