Nissan launches five special edition models in Japan to celebrate its 90th Anniversary. This car series was released several days before the brand’s birthday on December 26.
The Nissan 90th Anniversary vehicle lineup
The special 90th Anniversary lineup includes the Nissan LEAF electric vehicle (EV), the Note and Note Aura hybrids, the Sakura kei car, and the Serena minivan. Each gets a mixture of unique exterior and interior parts to make these cars stand out.
On the outside, all 90th Anniversary vehicles feature copper trim pieces as a nod to the Nissan Ariya. The copper bits are then contrasted by black-colored parts, predominantly on their grilles and side mirrors. Finishing up these vehicle’s looks is a set of black-colored wheels.
Nissan LEAF 90th Anniversary
The interiors of the 90th Anniversary Nissan models get some extra pizzazz as well. Most get floor mats and seat covers that are adorned by eye-catching 90th-anniversary tags. Their seats also get special seat covers. Available on the LEAF, for instance, is a leatherette and suede cover decorated with a diamond pattern. Other models get copper-colored stitching combined with synthetic leather or fabric.
Apart from those unique details, the 90th Anniversary Vehicle lineup may also be enhanced with several optional parts. Each model has an array of exterior decals, floor mats, and plate holders, among others. These, of course, feature the 90th Anniversary logo.
Nissan Serena 90th Anniversary
Of note, out of the five that received a commemorative variant, only the Nissan LEAF is available in the Philippine market. At the moment, it is priced at Php 1,998,000, and it can generate up to 147 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. It also has a range of 311 kilometers.
The 90th Anniversary model though, isn’t likely to reach Philippine shores. The 90th Anniversary version of the LEAF, after all, was labeled by the brand as a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) special. But maybe Nissan Philippines is also cooking something up for the brand’s 90th Anniversary too?
