Recently, we reported on the spy photo of the 2022 Ford Ranger posted by Ranger6G.com forums. It showed the front end of the next-gen pickup truck that depicts a similar face as the new Ford Maverick. Now, the Ford Ranger forums have rolled out another stolen shot of the pickup during testing, this time, showing the three trim levels of the next-generation model.

According to Ranger6G.com, the new Ford Ranger units in the photo are the XLT, FX4, and Wildtrak (from left to right), all available on the outgoing PH-spec Ford Ranger. The XLT sits in between the base XLS and mid-range FX4, while the Wildtrak is the most loaded Ranger in the country.
Just like in the next-gen Ford Ranger teaser video, the units in the spy photo are wrapped in what Blue Oval Company calls unique Bronco R-inspired block-style camouflage tailored by Ford automotive designer Lee Imrie and his team. With this, it’s quite difficult to distinguish the differences between the three trims.

All Ford Ranger units seem to come with the same headlight housing, outlined by a C-shaped daytime running light (DRL). However, the Wildtrak gets a different set of two-tier LED lamps as compared to the lower trims with a vertical tri-LED setup. All lamps look like they can serve as primary illumination, so the DRLs could potentially work as the turn signal as well.
Due to the camouflage, it’s impossible to tell whether a body panel is finished in black or chrome. But looking at the spy photo, black seems to be the go-to for the next-gen model. All come with a black grille with different designs which are common in Ford trucks, although the FX4 is seen with chrome trim that surrounds the fog lamps.
The all-new truck is nearing its debut
The next-gen 2022 Ford Ranger is expected to be designed with a look that shies away from a sleek finish, instead going for design elements that help highlight the truck’s large proportions. It won’t take long before we find out as the all-new pickup truck will be launched before the year ends.
