Plus another model shown in the newly-published Future Vehicles section on the automaker’s website.

Ford Philippines added the new ‘Future Vehicles’ section of its official website that consists of its upcoming vehicles. It includes information regarding the future Ford models that will be added to the local lineup. That said, the new section can be useful for those in the market looking for a new vehicle.

Next-gen Ford F-150

Now, the new section debuted with the announcement that the all-new Ford F-150 Lariat Diesel 4x4 and all-new Ford Explorer 2.3L EcoBoost Limited 4WD will be coming soon in the local market.

The upcoming Ford F-150 Lariat Diesel 4x4 is the next-generation model of the full-size pickup truck. It should be seen as a significant addition to the Blue Oval company’s Philippine lineup, considering that the current previous-gen model comes with a gasoline powertrain only.

All-new Ford Explorer

According to the brand, the new truck will be powered by a 3.0-liter Power Stroke Diesel engine with no exact output numbers. But if we’ll follow other markets, then the new diesel powertrain should make 250 hp and a whopping 597 Nm of torque at the most.

This is a great addition by Ford Philippines to further improve the pickup truck capabilities of the PH-spec Ford F-150 considering that the new diesel engine offers more torque at lower RPM as opposed to the current gasoline engine. With this, the American full-size truck should offer more towing capability which can be useful in hauling heavy cargo or off-roading.

Now up on Ford Philippines' official website

Meanwhile, the new ‘Future Vehicles’ section confirms the arrival of the new 2021 Ford Explorer in the country. As of this writing, the only confirmed detail is its 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that will be paired with a 4WD. It is expected to discontinue the front-wheel-drive on the base variant and replace it with a rear-wheel-drive instead.

Of note, Ford Philippines said that launch dates and pricing details will be made available in the future.

“We are very excited to enable this section of our website to keep our customers up to speed and excited with what Ford vehicles they can expect to be launched in the future. We invite our customers to stay tuned on our website or visit a Ford dealer for more updates about upcoming Ford vehicles,” said Ford Philippines Marketing Director Patrick Manigbas.
