A more modern-looking crossover is coming.

A facelifted version of the Hyundai Venue was expected to be introduced after leaked images of the new model recently surfaced online. Just a few days later, the Korean marque confirmed the reports, saying that the revamped model will be fully revealed in India in mid-June.

Hyundai Venue facelift

The leaked images are not far off from the official teaser photo released by Hyundai India. Exterior-wise, the front end receives the brand’s parametric design language, particularly on the grille. This can also be seen in other new-generation Hyundai models such as the Tucson and Elantra.

Not a lot of changes can be seen on the sides. The subcompact crossover still gets sharp character lines including the one that runs from the LED headlights to the LED tail lamps. Speaking of tail lamps, the rear end now sports a full-width light bar, making the facelifted model look more modern.

Hyundai has yet to unveil the official specs of the Venue facelift. Among the expected features on the upcoming model are ventilated seats, a new infotainment touchscreen with a Bose sound system, and ambient lighting. It could also be equipped with a 360-degree camera so drivers can maneuver more easily in tight spaces.

Under the hood, the vehicle will reportedly be available with two gasoline engine choices, namely a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated power unit and 1.0-liter turbo. It could also be offered with a 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine. The engines will likely be paired with either a 6-speed automatic or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

One modern-looking crossover

The Hyundai Venue facelift will make its debut in India on June 16. Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether the new Venue will arrive in the Philippines. The chances of this happening could be slim after Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc., the brand’s new distributor in the country, confirmed that the Creta will be its new subcompact crossover entry.
