Spy shots of the next-generation Hyundai Tucson have been spotted in South Korea, with the buzz centering on the crossover’s rumored new fascia.
Codenamed NX4, the fourth-generation Tucson will be based on the Vision T Concept that Hyundai previewed at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Vision T Concept serves as the template for the next-generation Hyundai Tucson
The upcoming Hyundai Tucson model will likely be bigger than the outgoing model, especially at the rear. Split headlamps flank a wider radiator grille which integrates the turn signals, while muscular fenders complement sharp character lines.
LED tail lamps bridged by a light stripe round out the crossover’s sporty vibe, and the vehicle will be riding on the same two-tone alloy wheels as the Vision T.
The upcoming Tucson is shaping up to be a more handsome crossover than its predecessor
Much ado has been going on over the exterior, but will the new Tucson’s cabin be as striking? An unofficial sketch of the new Tucson’s interior seems to shed light on the otherwise, uh, sketchy details. But if it’s any indication, the elegant-looking cockpit could contrast very nicely with the vehicle’s athletic design.
The entire dashboard is an exercise in minimalism, with little in the way of panel lines and contours that make regular interiors look distractingly busy.
A large touchscreen head unit sits flush with the center console, with the display and buttons for the onboard climate control resting just below it.

But more interesting bits await beyond the steering wheel, which sits in front of a virtual instrument panel comprising a floating-type flat screen.
The panel will also likely serve as a customizable multi-information display that gives the driver access to communication, navigation, and vehicle telematics.
Take note that Hyundai has yet to confirm the authenticity of the leaked sketch (there isn’t even a provision for the shifter yet), but previous spy shots point to a strong possibility of it being adopted for the production version.

There’s no word on the powertrain lineup, but the Vision T’s electric option is hinted at, as well as a sporty Tucson N variant rumored to deliver 340 hp. The new Hyundai Tucson is being anticipated for a 2021 launch as a 2022 model in India.
