The Mitsubishi Xpander has yet again proven itself as a strong model in Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC)’s lineup after succeeding in the Adventure in 2018. Last July 2021, the Japanese MPV posted a total of 1,207 units sold, which is the most for the model this year.

With that sales number in mind, the Xpander garnered a 60 percent growth versus its sales in June 2021 at 794 units. This sales performance solidifies the nameplate’s reputation as one of the top-selling models in its respective segment, rivaling the Suzuki Ertiga. Maxus G50, Toyota Avanza, among others.
Perhaps the best selling point of the Mitsubishi MPV is its 7-seating configuration at a relatively affordable price. MMPC offers the base 7-seater GLX MT variant at Php 1,008,000 and goes up to Php 1,128,000 for the GLS AT variant. For a more rugged finish, the Xpander Cross is also up for grabs at Php 1,255,000.
Good for seven occupants
Another factor why the Xpander sells in the local market is its futuristic appearance brought by the brand’s Dynamic Shield design. This is the same face seen on the current Mitsubishi Montero Sport midsize SUV. Overall, the Xpander is a versatile MPV that is ideal to be owned by Filipino families.
“We are very thankful for the continuous strong performance of the Mitsubishi Xpander in the Philippine market. We are grateful to the warm support that the public has shown to the nameplate. We assure our customers that we will continuously work to deliver great products and dedicated service,” said MMPC President and CEO Mr. Takeshi Hara.
An ideal family vehicle choice in the market
The Mitsubishi Xpander is a 7-seater MPV that made its debut at the Indonesia International Motor Show in 2017. It is powered by a 1.5-liter MIVEC engine capable of generating 103 hp and 141 Nm of torque. Depending on the variant, the engine can be paired to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
