This edition gets exclusive exterior accessories.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is celebrating a milestone at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) with the Xpander Cross 60th Anniversary Edition.

Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 60th Anniversary Edition

As the name suggests, the new special edition model marks the company’s 60-year run in the country. It comes with variant-exclusive rugged exterior accessories that “aim to promote outdoor life experience.”

The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 60th Anniversary Edition is equipped with a tailgate spoiler, which adds a touch of sportiness. It is complemented by a new tailgate garnish, providing the rear end with a more off-road-ready appearance.

MMPC also added functional accessories to give drivers the confidence to bring their 7-seater MPV on rough roads. These include mudguards and a rear bumper protector. The mudguards can protect the vehicle from debris such as rocks and mud, while the rear bumper protector can prevent damage when loading items into the cargo area.

While on the road, the Xpander Cross 60th Anniversary Edition variant can keep passengers entertained with its 7-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is paired with a six-speaker system including two tweeters.

Under the hood is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine capable of delivering 103 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission. The ground clearance rated at 225 mm should aid this MPV’s drivers in dealing with the occasional road bump and unpaved road.

Also joining the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 60th Anniversary Edition at the MIAS are the iconic Pajero, 1987 Lancer Boxtype, the Montero Sport fitted with outdoor accessories and the L300 café. The booth is also showcasing the Mitsubishi Strada rally car, which won the 2022 Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) championship title.

“We will continue to live by our brand statement… Mitsubishi is committed to offer a wonderful car life experience to Filipino customers through continuous pursuit of innovation, to ignite the passion of all the [Filipinos],” said MMPC President and CEO Mr. Takeshi Hara.

The MMPC chief also announced that the Mitsubishi Expo is scheduled to commence sometime this year.
