NLEX Corporation formally opens the new Meycauayan East Service Road, connecting Libtong in Meycauayan City and Lawang Bato in Valenzuela City. Concerned agencies including the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Transportation (DOTr) also helped inaugurate the new service road.

Present in the opening ceremony were Bulacan 4th District Representative Henry R. Villarica, Meycauayan City Mayor Linabelle Ruth R. Villarica, Meycauayan City Vice Mayor Josefina O. Violago, DPWH District Engineer George Santos, NLEX Corporation Vice President Donna Faylona-Marcelo, and Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Executive Director Alvin Carullo.
The Meycauayan East Service Road is a 1.0-km, two-lane service road that serves as an alternate route for those traveling between the cities of Meycauayan and Valenzuela, bypassing MacArthur Highway. It accommodates motorists in the said area alongside the recently rehabilitated Meycauayan bridge.
NLEX Corp. is proud to open the new service road
Moreover, the new service road aims to promote economic growth as it provides a faster route going in and out of the busy cities of Metro Manila. NLEX Corporation also noted that it continues its commitment to building more safe roads for the motoring public.
“Aside from relieving traffic, this infrastructure is seen to enhance mobility and make economic activities in Meycauayan and nearby areas more efficient. The service road also complements NLEX’s efforts to reduce traffic congestion,” said NLEX Corporation Vice President Donna Faylona-Marcelo.
Meanwhile, TRB Executive Director Alvin Carullo shared, “the Department of Transportation fully supports road projects like this as the agency also strives to improve the way people move around the urban areas through better road transport solutions.”
Convenient for the motoring public
Soon, the traffic condition in the said area is bound to be improved as NLEX Corporation and DPWH are working closely together to construct the Marilao East Service Road. It is a 190-meter service road that will run between the Barcelona Academy Inc. in Barangay Lias and the Mario Santiago Road in Marilao, Bulacan.
