As the Undas 2022 is approaching, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the Manila Police District will implement road closures starting at 10:00 p.m. on October 31 to 5:00 p.m. on November 2.
The road closure works will help manage traffic at this year’s All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day considering that many Filipinos will go out to visit cemeteries. Take note that the actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on the actual traffic situation. Without further ado, here are the roads slated to be closed:
- Stretch of Aurora Blvd. from Dimalasang to Rizal Avenue
- Stretch of Dimalasang from Makiling to Blumentritt Rd.
- Stretch of P. Gueverra from Cavite to Pampanga St.
- Stretch of Blumentritt from A. Bonifacio to P. Guevarra St.
- Stretch of Retiro from Dimalasang to Blumentritt Ext.
- Stretch of Leonor Rivera from Cavite to Aurora Blvd.
Meanwhile, the MMDA has provided re-routing scheme to ensure a steady traffic flow, which you can see on the list below:
- All vehicles coming from Dimalasang Rd., intending to utilize Blumentritt Rd. shall turn right to Makiling St., straight to Blumentritt Ext. to point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from Rizal Ave. intending to utilize Blumetritt Rd. shall continue straight to Rizal Ave. to point of destination.
- For those going to La Loma and Chinese Cemeteries, take the stretch of Rizal Ave. and J. Abad Santos Ave., as your point of entrance or exit (and vice versa).
- All trailers trucks/heavy vehicles coming from A.H. Lacson Ave. intending to utilize Dimasalang Rd., shall go straight to Yuseco St. to point of destination.
The MMDA will also execute the Oplan Undas 2022, which will deploy 1,500 personnel in key locations in Metro Manila in anticipation of the two-day event. From traffic management to public assistance, the government agency aims to provide a safe and peaceful Undas. NLEX Corporation will do the same as it will deploy over 1,000 patrol crews on NLEX (North Luzon Expressway) and SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway).
The city of Manila will provide dedicated parking spaces
