Close-up shots were provided, but there aren’t many details.

Another teaser was released by Japanese luxury carmaker Lexus. This time around, it's for the all-new Lexus GX.

The teaser for the Lexus GX features closeup shots of the SUV's front

This new teaser follows the one for the Lexus TX that was posted by the brand on its social media channels. But unlike the TX which is a whole new model, the teaser for the GX indicates that it is getting a next-generation version which will supersede the existing J150 second-generation Lexus GX.

Note that the GX has not seen a full model change since 2009. Sure, the SUV did get a number of updates from past years, but all of those were merely improvements and facelifts of the existing second-generation model.

Just like most teasers though, no further details for the GX were provided by Lexus. In fact, all the new teaser shows are two close-up shots of the vehicle’s headlamps and its tailgate.

From what we can see in the two closely cropped images, the front of the upcoming next-gen GX looks more angular and chiseled compared to the older model. The headlamps also appear straighter, while having a new section that drops down lower on the vehicle's front fascia. The grille of the upcoming GX is also visible in the teaser, and it looks like the spindle grille might be making a return.

With regards to the picture showing its tailgate, one can see that the new GX will be getting an LED light strip that will span the width of the SUV’s rear end. A black-colored trim with the Lexus emblem is also visible above the light strip.

The teaser picture of its rear is tightly cropped as well

As far as rumors on the internet go, the GX will likely use the new Toyota New Global Architecture GA-F architecture. The latter still uses a body-on-frame chassis, which is currently used by the new Toyota Land Cruiser.

For now, we can’t find anything about what powertrains the next-gen Lexus GX will come with. Then again, we wouldn’t be surprised if Lexus could cram in a hybrid powertrain inside its engine bay.

As a side note, the currently available version of the Lexus GX in the Philippine market is propelled by a turbodiesel mill that can generate up to 292 horsepower and 438 Nm of torque. That said, it would not be a stretch to find this engine on the upcoming next-gen GX as well.

Just like all other automotive industry rumors, do take what was said here with a grain of salt. So if you want more updates about the upcoming Lexus GX, keep it here on Philkotse
