It now has more power and improved exhaust note.

About a week ago, Kia revealed that it will be giving the Stinger an update. It looks subtle, but the changes made make the car look more modern and aggressive. The Kia Stinger gets a new set of LED lights, a new set of alloy wheels, a new exhaust muffler, and many other new parts.

However, apart from the new exterior pieces, Kia is also upgrading the Stinger’s engine. The Korean carmaker is doing this by giving the 3.3-liter T-GDi engine a new variable exhaust valve. This new part is meant to improve the Stinger’s exhaust flow. As such, the 2021 Kia Stinger can now make a total of 370 horsepower. Maximum torque however will still remain that same at 510 Nm.

Besides the slight increase in power, the upcoming Stinger’s new exhaust valve will also provide a better sounding exhaust note. In sport mode, the sound will become deeper, while in Eco or Comfort mode it will be more subdued.

Apart from the better sounding and more powerful engine, the Kia Stinger also gets a new 10.25-inch touchscreen display. The said device is equipped with Bluetooth multi-connection which enables up to two smartphones to link up. It also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The updated Stinger also has a plusher, more luxurious interior

Other markets that currently have the 7.0-inch touchscreen will also get a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen display. This one will have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Korean carmaker also revealed that the updated Stinger will have several new active safety systems. These include a safe exit warning which alerts an existing passenger whenever a vehicle is approaching from behind on either side of a parked Stinger. There’s also the new blind-spot view monitor, lane-keeping assist, highway driving assist, and a rear occupant alert.
