Jeep made its future goals clear when the American automaker launched the all-new Avenger electric crossover SUV at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. It signifies the brand’s shift to electrification just like what we are seeing with other automakers.

But Jeep doesn’t just want to conform to the market shift as it also looks to continue the thrilling experience that its rugged and off-road models are known for throughout the years. With that being said, the company revealed the new 4x4 concept of the Avenger EV at the said motor show as well.

As compared to the standard Avenger that comes with a 4x2 drivetrain, the model’s beefier 4x4 concept will be geared toward providing improved off-road capabilities. In the future, the concept’s production version will be added to the brand’s range of 4xe models. One of these is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe PHEV, which recently made an appearance in Jurassic World: Dominion.

This concept boasts improved off-road capabilities

To make the Avenger 4x4 concept off-road ready, the vehicle features tow hooks, wider fenders and tracks, and is equipped with larger and more aggressive tires. The approach angle has been improved to 21 degrees, the departure angle to 34 degrees, and the breakover angle to 20 degrees.

The concept displays a new lightweight roof cargo system, which uses a special belt system that compresses the luggage on the roof. Other features that protect both the passengers and subcompact crossover are thicker cladding, extra built-in flood lights, an anti-reflective hood sticker, and an anti-scratch grille.

“Here in Paris, we have shown that we have a full portfolio of new all-electric 4x4 capable Jeep models just around the corner, with a clear goal in mind: to become the number one electrified SUV brand in the world as we continue our path towards achieving our mission of Zero Emission Freedom,” said Jeep brand CEO Christian Meunier.
