Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is proud to announce its commanding win at the 2022 Philippine Rallycross Series (PHRX).
The Isuzu D-Max ruled the rally stages
Driven by professional rally racers Mon Dimapilis and Louie Camacho, IPC’s two D-Max LS-E 4x4 AT rally car entries conquered three of the dirt time trial racing competition’s vehicle classes.
After nine rounds, the Isuzu D-Max Team secured a 1-2 finish in three classes. Louie Camacho bagged the overall champion title for Pick-up, Utility Vehicle, and All-Wheel Drive Class, while Mon Dimapilis came in first place in the said classes.
Not a lot of modifications have been made to the rally trucks. The Isuzu D-Max entries are still powered by the same 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX inline-4 turbodiesel engine good for 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. As the variant name suggests, the engine is coupled with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Most of the modifications done are limited to suspension and tires, which should’ve helped keep the rally trucks planted on PHRX’s dirt tracks within Cavite and Pampanga. Racing seats and harnesses are also part of the modification for the safety of Isuzu D-Max Team’s two drivers.
“We are very proud of the result of this year’s Philippine Rallycross Series. The Isuzu D-Max has proven once again its versatility and durability, this time on the dirt track. And this is the kind of lifestyle we want to promote with this vehicle, our customers can enjoy the D-Max both for work and play on the weekends,” said IPC Asst. Division Head for Sales Robert Carlos.
The Isuzu D-Max put on a show
Aside from the impressive performance, the Japanese pickup truck also delivers when it comes to efficiency in the real world. As verified by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), the Isuzu D-Max managed to return 20.58 km/l after driving a travel distance of 1,564 km in just one full tank.
