Isuzu Philippines has teased a new D-Max that’s said to be “coming soon at a dealer near you.” Looking at the pickup truck, we can expect the Japanese automaker will launch a more rugged variant of the nameplate to be called “Limited.”

A new D-Max is coming

The company remains mum about the details of this alleged D-Max Limited. But based on the short 14-second teaser video posted on Facebook, the more rugged variant could be installed with all-terrain tires, new side steps, and Boondock-like decals more prominent around the wheel fenders.

As a rugged off-roader, the stylish two-tone grille has been replaced with a more straightforward design in black. The “ISUZU” script – now finished in red – has also been moved to the center of the front fascia instead of just below the hood in the non-Limited variants.

The red Isuzu badge is complemented by other exterior bits also in red including the lower front bumper, “Limited” decal on the side, and outlines on the tailgate.

This one boasts rugged aesthetics

Speaking of tailgate, we can see the new D-Max is embedded with the 3.0 TD badge by the taillight. This suggests the pickup will be powered by a 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX turbodiesel inline-four engine instead of the 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC turbodiesel engine.

The 4JJ3-TCX engine is capable of generating 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. In non-Limited versions, the engine could be paired with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission with a sequential shifter.

What’s interesting is the absence of a 4x4 badge usually seen on the side profile near the taillight. This could mean the new variant could be based on LS-A 4x2 MT and LS-A 4x2 AT variants.

This could be called the D-Max Limited

As of this writing, Isuzu Philippines has yet to disclose the pricing and the release date. But we will keep an eye out for the latest on this alleged D-Max Limited.
