If you have been keeping up with the latest from Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), the company is gearing up for the launch of the more rugged 2024 D-Max Limited. Now, we’re finding out the new variant of the pickup truck will be coming out in the metal next week.
The Isuzu D-Max Limited is coming
IPC rolled out a new video about the D-Max Limited following a 14-second teaser released last week. In the latest one, it appears the truck is equipped with halogen headlights instead of the bi-LED projectors. We can also see what seems to be the double LED taillights at the quick preview of the rear end.
With these amenities in mind, we can expect the D-Max Limited to be based on the LS-A variant instead of the top-of-the-line LS-E. The lack of a 4x4 decal also suggests the new variant will come in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) only.
The 3.0 TD badge on the lower right portion of the tailgate hints the D-Max Limited should be powered by a 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX inline-four turbodiesel engine. It makes 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.
A more rugged take on the pickup
There are two transmission options that could be offered – a six-speed manual with a reverse lock-out and a six-speed automatic gearbox with a sequential shift function.
Other Limited-exclusive amenities we can spot at the teasers include the Boondock-like decals, new all-terrain tires, side steps, and a reworked grille with the “Isuzu” in the middle. The exterior will also be accentuated with red trims found in the lower bumper and tailgate.
IPC is slated to launch the new Isuzu D-Max Limited on October 12, 2023, as per our insider. Since it won’t likely be a top-spec variant, the new model won’t directly compete against the likes of the Toyota Hilux GR-S and Nissan Navara Pro-4X. But at least the D-Max Limited will hold the same rugged ethos some truck enthusiasts look for.
