The modern PUVs will ply the Trancoville-Magsaysay Plaza-SM Baguio route.

Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles (CV) in the country, once again bolstered its support to the government’s PUV Modernization Program (PUVMP) with the turning over of new modern PUV units to a transport group in Baguio.

Baguio is the latest city to get Hyundai modern PUVs

This transport group is BAMAPCOM Entrepreneurs Multipurpose Cooperative, which welcomed 31 units of the Hyundai HD50S Modern PUV during a formal turnover ceremony held at BTRAMODA Terminal in Irisan, Baguio City. Present at the event were officials from the local government, Land Transportation Office (LTO), and HARI, among others.

The turned-over units are slated to ply the Trancoville-Magsaysay Plaza-SM Baguio route. Commuters will get to enjoy the vehicle’s convenient features that could include an air conditioning system, a CCTV camera, a speed limit warning buzzer, an automated fare collection system, and a Wi-Fi module. Take note that the transport group will decide which will be equipped in their units.

Delivering power to the units is a 2.9-liter Euro-4 compliant CRDi engine making 158 horsepower and 392 Nm of torque. Drivers will have to work their way around the route using a 5-speed manual transmission. The said power unit produces improved fuel efficiency and cleaner emissions, which are the goals of the government’s PUVMP.

“We are proud that our HD50S Modern PUV has met the power output demands of the area’s mountainous terrain. This is proof that our engine is best in class,” said HARI President and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo.

"And we thank our growing number of partners from Government and local communities for trusting in the safety, comfort, and reliability of the Hyundai Modern PUV,” added Perez-Agudo.
