As the champion in the Asia and Oceania segment of the competition, HCPI was then chosen to represent the said region in the Honda World Skills Contest. The global leg of the skills contest is then scheduled for October 2023, and it will take place in Japan.
The delegates were initially selected through the 23rd National Skills Contest organized by the company last February 2023. Below is the table containing the individuals who came out on top of the national contest:
Category | Dealer | Name |
General Repair | Honda Cars Alabang | Arnel Joyosa |
Honda Cars Manila Bay | Froilan Lacsamana | |
Periodic Maintenance | Honda Cars Manila Bay | Romel Cruzante and Elario Cepcon |
Service Advisor | Honda Cars Makati, Inc. | Elijah Dave Villan |
HCPI also congratulated Mr. Elijah Dave Villan of Honda Cars Makati, Inc. (HCMI), who bested his competition from other Asian and Oceanian countries in the SA category. This category is said to highlight service reception and delivery processes, including advanced diagnosis, work-up recommendations, repair works, releasing of the vehicle, and booking the next periodic maintenance visit.
“The skills competition is among Honda’s initiatives to ensure superior customer satisfaction through our Dealers and their dedicated staff who are our partners. Through national, regional, and global contests, dealer associates advance their technical service skills,” said HCPI President Ms. Rie Miyake.
“The program also gives them more joy at work because it widens their perspective on the importance of what they do, and how they genuinely help promote quality and safety while providing service,” added Miyake.
