Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) announced that it will launch the all-new HR-V RS Turbo at the eighth Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), happening this month.

Models with the RS badge come with a sportier appearance with the addition of exclusive exterior and interior bits. This is offered as the top-of-the-line model, which means that it should succeed the current top-spec V Turbo in HCPI’s lineup. Locally, the City, City Hatchback, Civic, and Brio are available with the RS treatment.
While HCPI hasn’t released the official specs of the PH-spec HR-V RS Turbo, we can look at Honda Indonesia’s lineup where the sportier model is available. Among the RS features include stylish RS aero kits, dual chrome exhaust pipe finisher, 18-inch wheels, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob with red stitching.

Under the hood, the HR-V RS Turbo will likely be powered by the same power unit as the PH-spec V Turbo, which is a 1.5-liter DOHC VTEC turbocharged inline-4 gasoline engine. It is capable of generating 175 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) should be paired with the engine.
HCPI will also showcase its Honda Sensing and Honda Connect at the upcoming auto show. The Honda Sensing is the brand’s advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), while the Honda Connect is a platform where customers can connect their smartphones to a Honda car for assistance.

Not just that. HCPI shared that it will be previewing an all-new Honda model that will only be shown during the show. The car brand remains mum as to what all-new Honda model it will be exclusively bringing or previewing at the eight PIMS. Could it be the all-new BR-V? Or could it be the all-new 2023 Honda Civic Type R? The latter vehicle might be a long shot but who knows, right?
The latest on the PH-spec Civic Type R is that HCPI stopped selling the FK8 in the local market. According to the company, all the remaining local units of the model have already been sold out.
