Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) launched the Honda Connect app alongside the official debut of the all-new 2024 CR-V. It’s a smartphone app that offers connected services that are said to make drives safer, more convenient, and more efficient.
The Honda Connect equipped on the next-generation CR-V is telematics-based (TCU) technology. This means that once it is downloaded to the owner’s smartphone, the Honda Connect app comes integrated with several features such as Automatic Collision Detection, Security Alarm, Remote Diagnostic Support, Speed Alert, Geofencing, Vehicle Dashboard Information, Remote Vehicle Control, and Find My Car.
All the mentioned TCU features of the Honda Connect, which is compatible with the all-new CR-V, are being offered by Honda Philippines with a free three-year subscription.
Meanwhile, HCPI announced that non-2024 Honda CR-V owners can also download the Honda Connect app. This means that owners of other Honda vehicles can download the said app for free but with limited features.
The reason for such is that other Honda vehicles come with a non-telematics (non-TCU) platform. As such, the full features of the Honda Connect are not included in the non-TCU tech. Features like Automatic Collision Detection, Security Alarm, and Remote Diagnostic Support, among others are not included in the non-TCU platform.
But, downloading the non-TCU Honda Connect app still has its benefits in enhancing safety, security, and convenience. The features available for free on a non-TCU platform include Emergency Calls, Location Search, and News.
HCPI shared that through the Emergency Calls feature, the user can contact the Honda Call Center, Honda Dealer, the police, ambulance services, or even 24/7 roadside assistance with much ease.
The Location Search feature offers added convenience as the user can search places of interest such as fuel stations, ATMs, convenience stores, and Honda Dealers. Under the Honda Dealers option, a user can contact the dealer and have the ability to book a service.
Lastly, the News feature consists of periodic maintenance reminders and product advisories. Through this, the Honda owner will always be updated on the latest news and advisories in relation to the car brand.
HCPI is encouraging its clients to download the Honda Connect app, which is available at the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery. The car brand also detailed the benefits of downloading the Honda Connect app through this link.
