Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is promising improved fuel efficiency in the 2024 CR-V. Based on the United Nations Regulation 101 for fuel consumption measurement, the CR-V RS with the e:HEV powertrain can return 29.4 km/l, while the CR-V V Turbo and VX Turbo can do 16.4 km/l.
All-new 2024 Honda CR-V
The fuel eco runs were said to be performed in city driving, making the figures more impressive.
In comparison to our fuel eco test runs, the 2024 CR-V is looking a lot more promising. The now-discontinued CR-V with the 2.0-liter SOHC engine returned 8 km/l in the city. Even our highway fuel eco figure did not match the new CR-V as it only posted 15.2 km/l at an average speed of 90 km/h.
The now-discontinued CR-V SX with the more efficient 1.6-liter turbodiesel got 11 km/l in the city. On the open highway, the compact crossover registered 22 km/l while driving at an average speed of 90 km/h.
The CR-V is now available with a hybrid powertrain
The hybrid version is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC VTEC engine with 146 horsepower and 183 Nm of torque. Completing the hybrid system are a lithium-ion battery and two electric motors that add 181 horsepower and 335 Nm of torque. It sends power to the front wheels via an electronically continuously variable transmission (E-CVT).
HCPI has not disclosed the combined power output. But when the model was launched in Thailand, the automaker claimed the e:HEV powertrain could produce 204 horsepower.
Meanwhile, the turbocharged variants use a 1.5-liter turbo engine capable of churning out 187 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. CVT is standard for the V and VX. But the former comes with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout, while the latter boasts an all-wheel-drive (AWD) layout.
The non-hybrid turbo variant also returned an impressive fuel efficiency figure
HCPI is offering the 2024 CR-V for Php 2,100,000 for the V Turbo, Php 2,280,000 for the VX Turbo, and Php 2,590,000 for the RS Hybrid. Apart from a fuel-efficient powertrain, the hybrid variant also comes with an eight-year or 200,000 km battery (whichever comes first).

Know more about Honda CR-V 2024
The 2024 Honda CR-V is a midsize crossover SUV. For the Philippine market, it has three variants: the V Turbo CVT, VX Turbo CVT, and the RS e:HEV (hybrid) e-CVT.
The latest version of this Honda model has two different engine options. For the top-spec hybrid trim, it uses a 2.0-liter gasoline four-banger paired with a dual motor and lithium-ion battery. The combustion component alone produces up to 145 horsepower and 183 Nm of torque. The electric-powered component meanwhile, can churn out 181 horsepower and 335 Nm of torque.
Aboard the V and VX trims meanwhile is a 1.5-liter inline-4 engine that can churn out 187 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.
Only the VX gets all-wheel-drive, while the rest are front-wheel-drive. All trims then use a continuously variable transmission (CVT), but the one on the hybrid trim is an electronic CVT (e-CVT).
In terms of dimensions, the all-new CR-V is 4,691mm long, 1,866mm wide, and 1,681mm (1,691mm for VX) in height. Both the hybrid and the V’s wheelbase then spans 2,701mm (2,700mm for VX).
Locally, the Honda CR-V competes against the likes of the Mazda CX-9, Cherry Tiggo 8 Pro, Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Peugeot 5008, etc.
