Honda Motor Co. Ltd. unveiled how they will help the world achieve zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050. Of note, not only will four-wheeled Honda vehicles come with these technologies, but so will motorcycles.
The realization of "zero traffic collision fatalities" by 2050
These are known collectively as the Honda Advanced Future Safety Technologies, and it consists of the Intelligent Driver-Assistive Technology (IDAT), which is the first-ever driver assist safety suite managed by artificial intelligence (AI). There’s also the “Safe and Sound Network”, and the expansion of the Honda Sensing 360 to even more models.
Like the usual driver-assist tech we have today, the AI-powered IDAT will help in mitigating accidents caused by driver errors, all the while providing just the right amount of intervention depending on the motor vehicle user’s skill. The said AI works in tandem with several sensors and cameras on the vehicle in order to detect risks on the road.

As mentioned, it can also monitor the driver’s behavior and patterns. As such, it can even predict driver errors based on its collected data.
Another piece of technology the Japanese brand unveiled is the “Safe and Sound Network Technology '' which interlinks all road users through a network. That said, each and every product with this tech can take stock of each other’s positions on the road, and thus predict potential risks providing the driver with the appropriate warnings to avoid said risks.

Beyond those technologies, Honda is also working on expanding the functions and capabilities of the Honda Sensing 360. The brand also plans to introduce this to all of its models sold in a myriad of regions by 2030. The brand is also working on making the Honda Sensing 360 work on motorcycles, which of course supports the brand’s drive to reduce global traffic collision fatalities by half come 2030. And possibly, even down to zero by 2050.
