The Geely Yinhe E8 electric vehicle (EV) has won the prestigious 2024 iF Design Award under the automotive product category. This, of course, is a huge milestone for the Chinese car brand, because for those unaware, iF Design is widely considered as the “Oscars of the design industry.”

Of note, the Geely Yinhe E8 also stood out from among 11,000 other entries from 72 countries. While it had stiff competition, the EV clinched the award thanks to the high recognition of 132 global authoritative design review experts. In particular, the E8 EV was praised for its many design innovations and its integration of culture, technology, and user needs.
On a more visual note, the E8’s particularly eye-catching details include the application of Geely’s patented “micro hole laser engraving technology.” This is applied to the front end and it enables the vehicle to display dynamic lighting effects.
Another notable feature of the brand’s flagship EV is a huge 45-inch 8k smart screen display which is seamlessly positioned on its sleek dashboard. This controls a majority of the E8’s in-car features and amenities, and the brand says it provides a better interactive experience for the vehicle’s users.

Concerning the victory of the Yinhe E8 at the iF Design Awards, Geely credits its design team which is said to be composed of members from all around the world. Thanks to its diversity, Geely claims that this team has an unlimited possibility when It comes to creating stand-out cars.
For those curious about the Geely Yinhe E8, it is classed as a luxury EV that’s currently on sale in the brand’s home market of China. Based on the Geely Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, its most powerful form is a dual-motor Performance variant that can generate up to 637 horsepower.
The dual-motor Performance version also has a range of 620 kilometers, a vehicle-to-load system, and a 10 to 80 percent charging rate of just 18 minutes. And despite its relatively heavy weight of around 2,100 kg, Geely says it can do zero to 100 km/h in 3.49 seconds.

Other winners within the iF Award 2024 automotive product category include the next-generation Mitsubishi Triton and the Mitsubishi XForce crossover SUV. Both were likewise praised for their overall design, user experience, and user interface, among other parameters.
