Mitsubishi said that the all-new Triton and XForce have won the 2024 iF Design Award in the product design discipline. The iF Design Award, based in Hannover Germany, is one of the notable international design competitions and the winners are selected in nine ‘disciplines’ which include product design, packaging design, communication design, interior architecture, professional concept, service design, architecture, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI).

For the 2024 iF Design Award, around 11,000 entries from 72 countries were judged by a jury of 132 international design experts. The entries were evaluated based on five criteria: idea, form, function, differentiation, and impact.

Mitsubishi Motors division general manager of design Seiji Watanabe shared that the company is honored with the said accolade. Watanabe added that the iF Design Award will serve as motivation for Mitsubishi to introduce the next-gen Triton and the all-new XForce to more customers.

"We are truly honored to receive one of the most distinguished design awards in the world for the two all-new models we launched this fiscal year. I believe each model was recognized for expressing its own character in a unique form – the Triton shows a daring expression, and the Xforce adopts an agile look – while also combining robustness, which is typical of Mitsubishi Motors' design,” Watanabe said.

The next-gen Mitsubishi Triton and the all-new Mitsubishi XForce were also included in Japan’s 2023 Good Design Award. The Good Design Award, established in 1957, is organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.
