The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is a pickup truck for the Philippine market. It is the next-gen iteration model replacing the old Mitsubishi Strada.
In the Philippine market, the Triton has a total of seven available variants. There’s the GL 4x2 MT, GLX 4x2 MT, GLX 4x2 AT, GLS 4x2 AT, GL 4x4 MT, GLX 4x4 MT, and the Athlete 4x4 AT. The price range for these trims starts at Php 1,134,000 for the entry-level GL 4x2 AT. The top-spec Athlete variant meanwhile, retails at Php 1,959,000.
There are two available versions of the Triton’s 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine. For the non-athlete trims, the engine as mentioned earlier can make up to 180 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The Athlete meanwhile, gets a more powerful tune at 201 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque.
Depending on the variant, the Triton either comes with a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. Likewise present is a 4x4 drivetrain and a 4x2 drivetrain.
Size-wise, the Triton at its largest is 5,360mm long, 1,930mm wide, and 1,815mm in height. The top-spec model also has a total of 222mm of ground clearance.
Locally, the Philippine-spec 2024 Mitsubishi Triton competes against the Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, Nissan Navara, Mazda BT-50, Ford Ranger, and Foton Thunder, among others.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton was officially launched for the Philippine market in January 2024. It enters the local scene with seven different variants. At launch, its suggested retail price ranges from Php 1,134,000 to Php 1,909,000.
On the outside, the 2024 Triton sports a commanding design that mostly employs straight lines. Up front, it gets LED daytime running lamps, LED headlamps, and LED front fog lamps. At the bottom of the front fascia meanwhile, is a metallic black bumper with grey accents.
Over to the side, this Mitsubishi-made pickup truck features a set of 18-inch or 16-inch wheels. The top-spec model is fitted with power-folding side mirrors, side steps, a sports bar, and roof rails.
The rear of the higher-spec versions, in turn, are kitted out with a tailgate lock, a bedliner, as well as LED taillights.
Step inside the 2024 Triton and you’ll be greeted by an interior with space enough for five occupants. Most of its cabin surfaces are clad in soft-touch materials and polished trim pieces.

Those advanced safety bits are supported by active yaw control, anti-lock braking, stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, parking sensors, trailer stability assist, etc.
The 2024 Triton retains a ladder-frame chassis. For ride comfort, on-road, as well as off-road stability, it uses a wishbone front suspension and a leaf spring-type rear suspension. Braking for this truck model is provided by front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
Propelling the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is the 2.4-liter 4N16 turbodiesel engine. For the Athlete variant, this four-banger can deliver 201 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. Other variants meanwhile, get a more sedate tune of 180 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque.
For transmissions, the Triton is available with a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. Likewise available for the model are 4x4 and 4x2 drivetrains. Only the top-spec Athlete comes with the Super Select 4WD-II system, but all three 4x4 variants get locking differentials. Other 4x4 trims like the GLX 4x4 and GL 4x4 have Easy Select 4WD.
The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton holds up against its biggest rivals in terms of sheer engine output. In fact, it now joins the Ford Ranger and the Toyota Hilux in the 200-hp club. The next-gen Mitsubishi also has a wealth of onboard amenities and safety technologies, making it one of the more comfortable off-road-capable rigs in the market right now.
