The Geely GX3 Pro is coming to the Philippines as confirmed by Sojitz G Auto Philippines, the official local Geely distributor. This small crossover will be launching on August 2023 and it will be the brand’s most affordable model ever with an introductory starting price of Php 778,000.

Previewed at the 2023 Manila International Motor Show (MIAS), this subcompact crossover is the Coolray’s tinier sibling. It mirrors the larger crossover’s style with its sharp-looking headlamps and an angular rear end with a faux rear diffuser.
It then comes in two different variants: the Comfort and the S. The Comfort will be the top-spec trim as it gets a sunroof, backup sensors, and cruise control. Standard on both though are dual front airbags and a reverse camera.
As previewed at this year’s MIAS, the Philippine-spec GX3 Pro might get a flat-bottom steering wheel, a floating-type touchscreen, and a dashboard with a multi-tiered style design. It can then seat up to five occupants.

Propelling the GX3 Pro is an engine that can deliver up to 102 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque. On the Comfort trim, the engine is then paired to a continuous variant transmission (CVT), while the S variant gets a five-speed manual gearbox.
The displacement and engine type were not shared by Geely as well. But if we referenced the global model, it uses the 1.5-liter 4G15 inline-4 gasoline engine. This is a Mitsubishi-designed four-banger that has been used for the Indonesia-spec Colt, and some crossovers from Haval, Great Wall, and BYD.
Interestingly, the engine on the upcoming crossover might be the same exact inline-4 motor that the Philippine-spec Geely Emgrand sedan uses. On the sedan, it even gets similar transmission options, and it has the same output figures as well.

The brand also didn’t indicate when exactly in August the crossover will be launched, but for those looking forward to it, keep it here on Philkotse for more updates.
