Geely Philippines is ramping up the excitement for the arrival of the new Coolray SE via a teaser video posted on its official social media account.

Below is the video with the caption ‘Look your coolest when you #SeekExcitementDiscoverFun with the all-new Coolray SE!’:

It was at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) when we first got a glimpse of the Geely Coolray SE. The new version of the subcompact crossover retained its sporty nature while adding new design elements that further enhance the finish.

Starting with perhaps the most prominent addition which is the blacked-out X-shaped energy bumper. It is complemented by the smoked headlights and new all-black borderless Chronos grille, replacing the red accent of the cosmos grille. The front lip is still carried over but is painted with three stripes on each end.

It will be coming soon

The Coolray SE retains the gloss black alloy wheels, matching the new front-end look. Red brake calipers help enhance the sportiness of the crossover. And as for the rear end, the new model comes with a revamped spoiler that looks more angular, as well as red accents on the rear diffuser.

Inside, no significant updates are made. The vehicle still boasts leather-wrapped seats accented with red for that fancy-looking finish. Sitting on top of the center console is a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with QD Link which connects smartphones to the system.

No changes are introduced under the hood as well. This means that the new Coolray is still using a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine capable of generating 177 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) sends power from the engine to the front wheels.

Geely Philippines could officially launch the Coolray SE sometime this month or in July as it recently announced that the sportier-looking version is ‘coming soon.’ The Chinese automaker is also now accepting reservations for the new model on its official website. Reports state that the Coolray SE could come with a price tag that falls under the Php 1,260,000 mark. But then again, nothing is official yet as of this writing.
