Owning a car involves a huge chunk of hard-earned money, which is why most car owners will do everything to keep it in mint condition. But owning a car is more than just keeping it clean and in tip-top shape at all times. You also need to make sure that your vehicle is parked safe and sound.
Ford's SecuriAlert can give you peace of mind
Car alarms can help deter thieves but sometimes things can still go south especially when you park your vehicle in an open parking space that’s quite far from your office or house. To address this concern, Ford has developed a technology that would give your vehicle an added security. Say hello to the Ford SecuriAlert.
Once activated, the SecuriAlert sends a notification to the vehicle owner’s smartphone if it detects any activity such as attempts to open doors or gain access with a key.
Ford explains that the SecuriAlert makes use of the vehicle's existing sensors to identify if an attempt is being made to enter the vehicle. Through the FordPass Connect, the SecuriAlert sends a notification to the car owner in case the system detects any activity.
“Whether left on the street overnight or in a car park on a shopping trip, we know our customers care about the security of their car and its contents. SecuriAlert builds on Ford’s growing connectivity ecosystem to empower owners with the knowledge that if something happens with their vehicle when they aren’t driving it, they will be the first to know,” said Ford Europe Director of Retail Connectivity Solutions Richard Bunn.

When the owner is about to use the car, Ford says that he/she should simply disable the SecuriAlert before entering the vehicle.
In other words, Ford’s SecuriAlert is like your personal security guard that’s responsible for keeping an eye on your parked car. This feature can also give peace of mind especially for overly suspicious car owners who can’t quite stop thinking about their parked car while grocery shopping.
