The imposition of provisional safeguard duties by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on imported vehicles is having a domino effect across the local automotive industry. So far, Ford Philippines is the latest among those who are adjusting prices on select import models.
The effect of the provisional safeguard tariffs has reached most of the Ford Ranger line
A revised pricing structure is now in effect in Ford Philippines’ lineup, focusing on the Ranger pickup series and the Territory compact crossover. According to Ford Philippines, select Ranger variants will only come with a partial tariff imposition, to cushion the potential blow that the price hikes will have on its customers. Unlike certain carmakers that positioned their adjustments as refundable bonds, this appears to be an outright price increase for a number of Ford models.
Even the base Ford Territory variant gets a price adjustment
The additional rates for the Ranger (with the exception of the Wildtrak 4x4 and the Ranger Raptor) vary from a low of Php 64,000 for the 2.2L FX4 4x2 manual transmission to as high as Php 123,000 for the 2.2L XLS 4x2 automatic, XLT 4x2 manual, and XLS 4x4 manual.
For the Territory, a Php 78,000 premium has been tacked on the EcoBoost Trend 1.5L CVT variant. Here is the rest of Ford’s pricing changes.
