Ford Philippines launches the globally recognized Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) program, which is now in its 13th year in the country. This is part of the company’s Global Caring Month celebrated every September.
Ford Philippines brings back Driving Skills for Life
Under the program, participants will be taught about safe driving as well as basic vehicle dynamics and handling, fuel-efficient driving, anti-distracted driving, driving in various conditions, and government regulations.
To adapt to the new normal, Ford Philippines will also include timely car maintenance tips that can be handy during the pandemic. Some of which include car sanitation, disinfection, and pandemic car care and maintenance tips.
Tuason Racing School will still be the partner of Ford Philippines in making the DSFL a successful program. But this year, in consideration of the ongoing global health crisis, the educational driving program will be held virtually.
The program aims to educate Filipino motorists regarding cars
The training facilitator will aim to provide interactive training sessions with more instructional videos, games, and contests. Also, radio personality Sam YG and beauty queen Michelle Dee are this year’s Ford road safety ambassadors, helping grow the program in the digital space.
Ford Philippines said that a number of DSFL sessions will be open to the public to register and participate. Interested individuals may visit the car brand’s Facebook page for more updates.
“We’re are excited to bring the DSFL back this year as part of our Global Caring Month, bringing to life our long-standing advocacy on road safety on the digital platform,” said Ford Philippines AVP for Communications EJ Francisco.
In turn, the roads are expected to be a safer place
In the previous DSFL program, Ford vehicles such as the EcoSport, Escape, and Everest were made available to be driven by participants. The EcoSport is expected to make an appearance in the instructional videos, as well as the Territory which recently celebrated its 5,000 sales milestone in less than a year.
“This year, we are making the DSFL a more relevant training program for our participants by sharing the necessary driving habits and skills as they navigate the roads in the new normal,” added Francisco.
The program has been long serving Filipinos
The DSFL has been educating Filipino motorists since 2008, with a network that extends to Davao. It has trained over 26,000 drivers since it was introduced in the country, while being a consistent award recipient including the 4th Driven to Serve Awards by the Society of Philippine Motoring Journalists (SPMJ) in 2020.
