Chevrolet Philippines announces the final call to own the outgoing sixth-generation Camaro.
Chevrolet Camaro
The American automaker will discontinue the model next year, with the last unit to roll off from its Lansing Grand River Assembly in Michigan in January 2024. While a successor has yet to be announced, the company said, “This is not the end of Camaro’s story.”
For Php 4,266,888, you get to own a car that carries a strong reputation in the industry. Chevrolet introduced the Camaro in 1967 as a two-door rear-wheel-drive (RWD) coupe with V6 and V8 engine options. Since then, the nameplate has grown in popularity thanks to its motorsport stints and movie appearance in films like The Transformers as Bumblebee.
The nameplate has spanned six generations
Specs-wise, the PH-spec Chevrolet Camaro is fitted with the RS Appearance Package that includes a set of 20-inch aluminum five-spoke wheels, a decklid rear spoiler, and a honeycomb grille. The package is paired with standard LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, and dual stainless exhaust tailpipes.
Inside, the driver gets an eight-way power adjust sport bucket seat, while the front passenger has a six-way power adjust sport bucket seat. An eight-inch MyLink touchscreen sits on the dashboard, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is routed to a nine-speaker Bose sound system.
The Camaro is also known for its role as Bumblebee in The Transformers
The Camaro is loaded with safety bits including an anti-lock braking system, brake assist, electronic brakeforce distribution, StabiliTrak system, lane change alert, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, and tire pressure monitoring system. It also has rear parking sensors and a reverse camera for easier parking maneuvers.
A classic in the making
Under the hood is a standard 2.0-liter inline-four twin-scroll turbocharged engine good for 275 horsepower and 398 Nm of torque. The vehicle retained its RWD setup, which receives power from the engine via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
