It gets striking design details inside and out.

For the longest time, the design team at BMW has always been putting out either questionable or fascinating car styling. But this time, the German automaker seems to have delivered the latter with the new Concept Touring Coupe.

BMW Concept Touring Coupe

Unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2023, the BMW Concept Touring Coupe is a two-seater one-off model designed to exude fine details inside and out. It follows the Z3 M Coupe, which was called the “clown shoe” due to its quirky appearance.

Based on the BMW Z4, the new Concept Touring Coupe is the shooting brake version, a type of body configuration used by the likes of the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso and Ferrari FF. It is meant to look like the BMW 328 Touring Coupe that won the Millie Miglia endurance race in 1940, as well as pay homage to the BMW 02 Series model variants of the 70s.

It features a familiar look as the BMW Z4 roadster

Exterior-wise, the vehicle is finished with the exclusive Sparkling Lario exterior paintwork, which is further enhanced by flakes of blue glass and grey-brown hues. The front comes with 20-inch exclusive light-alloy wheels, while the rear axle gets slightly larger 21-inch wheels. Moreover, the front fascia receives the brand’s signature kidney grille with longitudinal bars.

Moving into the interior, the cabin has an exclusive bi-color option from the Italian leather workshop Poltrona Frau, with the upper and lower sections finished in dark brown and light saddle brown, respectively. A custom-made set of bags are exclusively made available for the Concept Touring Coupe.

Interior of the Concept Touring Coupe

Under the hood is the brand’s 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged engine also found in the BMW Z4. For reference, the powertrain setup in the roadster makes 335 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

“The BMW Concept Touring Coupe celebrates the original Sheer Driving Pleasure,” said BMW Design Head Domagoj Dukec. “A highly emotional vehicle like this shows that the passion for everything that goes into driving pleasure has been essential through the ages and will be for the future.”

This is said to be a timeless symbol of freedom on four wheels

As mentioned earlier, BMW only produced one Concept Touring Coupe unit. So one can only hope that prospective buyers could give BMW enough reasons to bring this beauty to the production line.
