The competition within the seven-seater vehicle market has been heating up with Toyota Philippines drawing first blood as it officially launched the all-new Avanza, and the 2022 Veloz. Mitsubishi is also joining the seven-seater battle royale with the pre-selling period of the facelifted Xpander.
Toyota and Mitsubishi have been going at it for a while now, which makes you wonder as to when will Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) enter the slugfest. HCPI’s challenger in the seven-seater MPV segment has already hung up the gloves last year as the Mobilio was officially axed from its model lineup.
This leaves the BR-V as the only seven-seater vehicle in HCPI’s lineup that could rival the likes of the Avanza, Veloz, and Xpander. While its rivals are already launched, and about to be launched in the local market, HCPI has yet to introduce the all-new BR-V.

The all-new Honda BR-V is already available in Indonesia with the top-spec trim integrated with Honda Sensing driver-assistive tech. That said, it goes in line with HCPI’s previous statement that the upcoming Honda models for the Philippine market will have the said driver-assistive tech.
During the launch of the 2022 Honda HR-V, Philkotse.com asked HCPI General Manager Atty. Louie Soriano as to when will the all-new BR-V arrive in the Philippines. Soriano was tight-lipped on the matter.
But it’s obvious that HCPI will be introducing the all-new BR-V considering that it is currently the only challenger the car brand has against the likes of the Avanza, Veloz, Xpander, among others. The question now is when will HCPI launch it.
The Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is reportedly making its comeback this year. This auto show is usually held biennial during the month of September. Could HCPI launch the all-new BR-V at PIMS? It could be since it was also during PIMS when HCPI first debuted the seven-seater BR-V in the Philippines, which was back in 2016. But then again, nothing is official as of this writing.
That said, are you waiting and looking forward to the launch of the all-new Honda BR-V in the Philippines? Cast your vote now in Philkotse’s Poll of the Week.
