Upcoming PH Honda models to have Sensing driver-assist tech

Honda values vehicle and road safety as it targets to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050. To do just that, the Japanese car brand is continuously developing safety and tech features that will be integrated into its production cars.

In pursuit of safer roads, HCPI said upcoming Honda models that will be launched in the Philippines will be equipped with the Honda Sensing driver-assistive tech. HCPI General Manager, Sales & Official Spokesperson Atty. Louie Soriano confirmed this to Philkotse.com.

Soriano clarified that not all Honda cars in the Philippines will have the Sensing tech. Only the upcoming Honda cars to be launched will be equipped with the said tech. This could mean that entry-level cars such as the Brio might not be getting the Honda Sensing.

“All models that will be launched will be equipped with Honda Sensing. Hindi all cars ha,” Soriano said.

2022 Honda Civic Media Drive

The current Honda models offered in the Philippines that come with the Honda Sensing tech include the 2022 Civic. It’s a standard feature in all Civic variants in the local market. It is also available in the CR-V, Accord, and Civic Type R.

The interesting tidbit on Soriano’s statement is the indication or somewhat of a confirmation that the Philippine market is bound to have new Honda models. It hints at the possibility that HCPI is set to launch new models in the market this year, which could include the all-new BR-V and HR-V. After all, the said Honda models are already launched in the ASEAN region.

2022 Honda BR-V

The all-new Honda BR-V is already being offered in Indonesia, and it could only be a matter of time before HCPI introduced it in the local market. The Indo-spec 2022 BR-V is also equipped with Honda Sensing, which is in line with Soriano’s statement that future PH-spec models will have the said safety tech.

Meanwhile, the 2022 Honda HR-V has been launched in Thailand featuring a hybrid engine. The Thai-spec HR-V comes with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated i-VTEC gasoline engine offers 105 hp and 127 Nm of torque. Partnered with a lithium-ion battery powering two electric motors, the output goes up to 131 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque.
