It’s been almost a year since the new Nissan Z was unveiled with a familiar look and performance updates. This is why many are eager to get behind the wheel of the Japanese sports car and see the driving experience for themselves.
2023 Nissan Z
However, Nissan announced that the launch of the Z will be delayed due to the crisis in parts supply. In fact, some automakers were forced to cut their factory production for the same reason in Japan. Instead of the original June launch, the 2023 Nissan Z could be launched in Japan sometime in the third quarter of this year.
The 2023 Nissan Z comes with a design that pays homage to the first Fairlady Z, specifically the S30 type. Its LED headlamp design is inspired by the ones in the Fairlady Z (S30 type), while the LED rear tail lamps are adopted from what can be seen at the back end of the Fairlady (Z32 type).
Interior of the Z
Moving to the interior, the cabin features a more modern finish as compared to the outgoing model with the integration of various display setups and a two-tone finish. To add sporty aesthetics, the dashboard bears the triple analog submeter which provides information regarding the battery voltage, turbo RPM, and boost.
Powering the vehicle is a newly-developed 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine capable of generating 399 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque. It is still available with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an option for a 9-speed automatic gearbox that comes with Standard and Sport modes.
The new Z is inspired by the previous iterations
For the first time in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Nissan model, the new Z is equipped with launch control. This can maximize the pushing power of the sports car from a standstill, improving the acceleration time. In addition, the Japanese marque improved the suspension, NVH (Noise, vibration, and harshness), comfort, handling, and rigidity.
Nissan Z Proto Spec
The 2023 Nissan Z will be offered in Japan at a price that starts at 5,241,500 Yen (or around Php 2.2 million). It goes up to 6,966,300 Yen (Php 2.9 million) for the Proto Spec, which will be limited to 240 units. Take note, the new launch date could still change depending on the parts supply situation.
