MIAS 2022: Nissan adds Calibre-X to Navara lineup

This is a limited-edition variant of the popular midsize pickup.   

At the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), Nissan Philippines took the opportunity to introduce the newest member of its Navara pickup range. This is the Calibre-X, a limited-edition trim level.

According to Nissan, the new variant is versatile enough to be driven both on pavement and country roads, bringing pickup capability and practicality wherever adventure takes its customers. 

It all begins with the Calibre-X’s exterior styling, featuring a blacked-out elements such as the grille, Nissan emblem, overfenders, and side mirrors. Orange accents make the Calibre-X stand out whether it’s moving or standing still. Quad LED automatic projector headlamps work with LED signature daytime running lights to provide forward visibility in low-light conditions.

The cargo bed comes with a Utili-Track Channel System that utilizes movable anchor points, enabling users to secure a wide variety of cargo sizes. A Tailgate Assist system allows one-finger operation in effortlessly opening and closing the tailgate for loading or unloading cargo.

Accommodations for up to five people can be found inside the Calibre-X’s interior, with leather trim all around and Zero Gravity seats for the front occupants. Storage is plentiful, from the center console to the front and rear bottle holders. 

A high-contrast meter cluster with 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist display provides vital vehicle information at a glance, while an 8-inch touchscreen audio offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Charge mobile devices on the go with three 12-volt power sockets and four USB ports.

The Calibre-X is loaded with safety features as well, such as six airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, and vehicle dynamic control. It also comes with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite that spans a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind-Spot Warning, and Hill-Start Assist. 

Powering the midsize truck is the same 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine that’s standard on the Navara lineup, good for 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. A 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode routes power to the rear wheels.

Zero Gravity seats await front occupants in the cabin

The new Nissan Navara Calibre-X is selling for Php 1,526,000 and comes in three colors: Fiery Red, Galaxy Black, and Aspen Pearl White (additional Php 15,000). As with the rest of the Navara lineup, the Calibre-X is offered with a 5-year warranty. The Nissan Navara is a pickup truck that is available in the Philippines. Nissan Navara 2023 Philippines price starting from Php 1,071,000 to Php 1,811,000. This price range is covered within the truck's nine variants, with the PRO-4X as the most expensive Navara. Under the hood, the Japanese pickup is powered by a 2.5-liter YD25DDTi inline-4 DOHC turbodiesel engine. Depending on the variant, the horsepower ranges from 161 to 190, while the torque in newton meters varies from 403 to 450. Either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission is paired to the engine.

Dimensions-wise, the Navara spans 5,260 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,855 mm in height, with the wheelbase rated at 3,150 mm. In addition, the bed dimensions (L x W x H x H) are 1,470 mm long, 1,495 mm wide, and 470 mm and 520 mm in height. Locally, this pickup truck competes against the likes of the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Mitsubishi Strada.
