Honda’s small hatchback gets a revised front end along with other updates.

The facelifted second-generation Honda Brio is now out, and Indonesia is the first market to get it. As a facelifted model, Honda’s subcompact hatchback still looks like the current Brio that’s available in the Philippines. But a stark difference can be seen on the front end–obviously.

2023 Honda Brio RS

The 2023 Honda Brio has a bolder-looking front end due to the larger grille design and the revamped bumper. The Brio’s new front grille and bumper give the vehicle a wider fascia as compared to the outgoing or the current model offered in the Philippines.

The Brio RS’ new diamond grille also resembles the one fitted on the Honda HR-V RS Turbo. The revamped front bumper, on the other hand, gives the vehicle a sleeker appeal. Aside from the grille and the bumper, the 2023 Honda Brio has restyled headlights. The headlights equipped on the new Brio RS resemble the design seen on the all-new Honda BR-V

The Brio gets a new front end

The fog lights join the list of revamped designs seen on the new Honda Brio. Of note, the 2023 Brio is offered in two flavors: Satya and RS. The Satya is then offered with three variant options: S MT, E MT, and E EVT. Meanwhile, the RS can be had either in MT or CVT. Only the Brio RS trims come with LED fog lights. And yes, there’s a Brio RS with a manual transmission offered in Indonesia.

The 2023 Honda Brio comes with the same 1.2-liter gasoline engine that produces 89 hp and 110 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to either a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission.

The 2023 Brio RS' interior

Inside, the Honda Brio RS comes with the familiar layout seen on the pre-facelifted model. But it received subtle design tweaks as seen on the reduced red-orange accent on the dashboard. It also comes with a new dark gray accent on the dashboard seen on the passenger side. In addition, the facelifted Brio RS features a new seat pattern.

The Indonesian-spec Brio RS comes with a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a smart key entry and a push-button engine start/stop.

Pricing for the 2023 Honda Brio in Indonesia starts Rp 165,900,000 (or around Php 625,000) while the top-spec RS CVT retails at Rp 243,900,000 (Php 918,800).

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. new president Rie Miyake

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has yet to put out a word about whether or not it will be launching the new Brio. Previously, HCPI’s new president, Rie Miyake, promised to deliver new technologies to Filipinos including the brand’s e:HEV hybrid vehicles.
